The Vintage style meter was introducedby Sifam in response to the demａnd for the more classically styled meter seenon many traditional consoles and rack mounted units. The distinctive ‘retro’styling with contemporary construction gives high performance at an affordableprice. The Vintage range offers Audio Level (AL) and Fast Response (FR) optionsalong with Voltage and Current meters complementing the proven Presentorseries. The Vintage range is available in four styles; Type 15, Type 19, Type20 and Type 20SQ, each meter offers:

AL Vintage –Specification

A low range ac voltmeter offering aperformance close to that of a full specification vu meter. Suitable forconnecting across a 600 ohm line and self contained except for requiring anexternal 3k6 resistor. Calibrated for use with a 3k6 ohm resistor 4vu above thescale marking so that the reference deflection (0vu) is produced by a signal4vu above 1mW in 600ohms (1.228V).

The performance of the meter is based uponthe requirements IEC 268-17.

The response curves below give acomparison of the full specification vu meter with that of a typical AL19Rmeter. A variation in over swing between 0 and 5% can occur since the dampingis not individually adjusted on each meter but allowed to fall within normalprocess parameters.

The combination of ‘pear’ shaped pointerａnd conventional arc scale on translucent buff coloured dial results in aneasily read meter, even when monitoring a row on a large console. A white dialcan be specified if required. The standard scale is based on the vu ‘A’ scalebut the ‘B’ scale is also available.

FR Vintage –Specification

A dc millammeter offering a performanceclose to that of full specification PPM meters to IEC 268-10. The generalmeter build conforms to relevant parts of BS89, EN 60 051 and IEC 51.

The response curves below give a comparison of the full specification PPMmeters with that of a typical FR 19R meter. A variation in over swing willoccur from the nominal responses shown, as unlike the full specification PPMindicator where each meter is individually adjusted for ballistics, these fallwithin normal process parameters. In each case the FSD is 1mA. For the FRVintage range the terminal resistance is 465Ω ±15% whereas for the PPM meter itis 600Ω ±5%.
